Roots Sunday Night was Awesome.

What a great night! Thanks to all of the student who came out to make it such a memorable evening. I think we avoided all concussions and vomitting... so the night was a success! Jousting, volleyball, football, and corn hole was a ton of fun! Our game however...

We played "What Would You Do For...?", which offered prizes to students... if they were willing to work for it. For example, a student could say they were willing to eat a jar of baby food for an iTunes gift card. If only it stayed that tame. Things escalated until one student ate a jar of cat food (safe for human consumption, I promise!), while another faced the "Blender of Doom," filled with an entire Happy Meal, onions, beets, pickle juice, SPAM, and who knows what else.

We wrapped up our evening with a message about how much our great God loves us, even though we are so undeserving. Small group discussions ensued, where we talked about our thoughts and reactions to what we had heard.

I am so glad that we had 47 students come out on Sunday Night. And I'm kind of glad we didn't have 50. The middle school Sunday school class made a bet with me: if they got 50 students to come to Roots Sunday Night, they could pie me in the face at the end! However, my face and my clothes were spared. I have a feeling I may not be as lucky next month... Mark your calendars for October 5!
